Galia Tanay

Saturday Aug 15th

What is mental training and what should be trained? How can we change our mind? Do our thoughts really help us? How do we treat our body?

Mindfulness  is a basic human ability – the ability to see what is going on inside the mind, heart and our body as they present themselves at the current  moment. Combined method of listening practice and Buddhist philosophy with contemporary psychological knowledge about the brain and the mind, and this combination allows a person to recognize directly the patterns causing him mental stress and find the most beneficial way to change them.

In the practice of mindfulness, we’re not just talking about the past or planning the future but mainly practice to be present in the present, to live our lives fully and freely.

In the workshop we will practice mindfulness and complementary practices like compassion, kindness and concentration. The workshop will provide various exercises to practice listening – sitting, walking as part of daily activities. Participants will also practice listening to recorded instructions at home. In addition we will practice mindfulness listening system theory – the brain and the cognitive mechanisms underlying the method and application mindfulness on the day and its effect on our health, our relationships and patterns that make us suffer.
